Cube Wars is a reality according to IGN

In response to a question on multiplayer Cube games, Matt casually named several upcoming games that will feature some form of multiplayer mayhem. I noticed Cube Wars was mentioned. Is this a GC installment of my favorite GBA franchise, or am I mistaken? I love Advance Wars, and have been dreaming of a Cube version. Have the game gods answered my prayers?? Is Fran still a butt-ugly goat?? IGNcube, I need answers!



Matt responds: Your prayers have indeed been answered. Reports around the Web have already linked UK development studio Kuju to an action-strategy-based title for GameCube. That title is Advance Wars, I've learned. But don't expect a full-blown RTS here. This is much more of an action game set to the Advance Wars universe. You'll be able war in fully 3D environments and command your units in real-time. Sounds like it's going to be pretty cool. Can't wait to see it at E3.

I've been wanting a good console action-RTS / action-strategy game like Herzog Zwei on Genesis. that was the most addictive game I'd ever played.

while it may put some people off who are huge fans of Advance Wars, I'm glad Cube Wars is not going to be turn based.

I hope Kuju can get the right blend of action and strategy.
