I have never been on a top X gaming chart before. I figure I'll have a fair shot tonight.

I wouldn't expect so if they fix it in a timely manner.
 
I've got 1 person in my friends list logged in, and they're playing heavy rain on a fat. Quietest night ever since launch!!

It's safer not to sign on until Sony says otherwise. The Slim models should be ok, but I think a small minority may have the same problem. PS Blog says:

if you have a model other than the new slim PS3, we advise that you do not use your PS3 system, as doing so may result in errors in some functionality, such as recording obtained trophies, and not being able to restore certain data.

I found out that my Fat PS3 at home works alright. So I'm going to patrol PSN tonight (wahahaha !)

Watching Blu-ray seems fine though.

Either way, the PSN network will explode @ 0:00 GMT. Even if the clock *magically* fixes itself, you will likely still get kicked out of PSN.

I don't know why but I am enjoying this quite a bit. I think the GAF thread kinda twisted my judgement and perception.

Me too, it's been a bit of an epic journey/thread today, I don't think i have ever spent so much time on one issue, in one thread.
 
Did you have the problem in the first place ? I am guessing only a subset of Fat PS3 users were truly affected. The rest were simply held back by Sony's announcements.
 
Yep i had the probems. I only turned on to play god of war demo after reading warcrows interview ;)

I was getting 8001050F errors when trying to log in and some error to do with trophys when starting games. Just synced my trophies and that worked fine though a lot fastr than usual :LOL:

Edit: Few people on my friends list are starting to come online, looks like it is ok now.

lol indeed, no major emergency firmware rollout or anything. Well done Sony. Wonder if they have had to open up there security or something.

Just let it run the 24 hours of unregisterd time and it'll resume.

This is funny lol.

They probably will still update the firmware for the next nonexistant leap year 4 years later (hearing that the phat PS3s do leap years every two years) though.
