Condemned Review IGN

Yes it is a great score and I will still purchase. I am just a tad dissapointed in length. I targeted this game as a "must have" rightup there with COD2.

I love the genre! Can't wait to play in total darkness w/Dolby 5.1 and immerse myself.

It will be a great score, if Condemed receives it, because right now on IGN, it has neither a review or score.

??? Scroll down on page 5. 8.7 Editor pick award or I am losing it??

Exactly what iw as hoping for:

Condemned: Criminal Origins isn't a long game and it only has one game mode, but it's an unforgettable experience. At no point in the game will you be calm or feel comfortable, and that's the best part about it. Even if you're squeamish, be sure to play this at least once at night with all the lights off and by yourself and you'll understand just how frightening it really is. The graphics, animations, enemy behavior, and utterly unnerving sound make this is easily one of the most immersive and atmospheric games I've ever played. I honestly yelled out loud at certain points, and was getting goosebumps on a regular basis.

Cant wait to do this on my 110" projection screen in surround.

Launch games are often shortish, due to pressure to get them ready on time, or due to conscious choice or directions by publisher.
The sooner you finish your launch games, the sooner you'll be buying new games.

The graphics engine in Condemned looks to be quite similar to FEAR, doesn't it?

I haven't played Condemned, though. The vids I've seen look like good fun.

I'm playing FEAR on my PC currently (7800GTX all grfx effects max except soft shadows) and from the videos ive seen condemned looks a bit more 'organic'. FEAR has some nifty effects but IMO can look pretty bland after awhile.

am i the only one who doesn't care if a game last 10-15 hours as long as the experience is really good and intense? i mean why do avarage rpgs with their endless random battless or fps' with their endless corridors gets 9 or up for the lasting appeal??? so what last 20+ hours ? i'm 25 and i dont have 40+ hours to put on a game anymore ( unless the game in the same caliber as ocarina of time or something)for example i recently finished shadow of the colossus around 10 hours and it was one of the most satisfying gaming experiences that i had lately,i wouldnt want it to be longer. anyone feelin' same?

I don't care for short games but since its launch i will deal with it .

I like my games to last 25+ hours esp at 50$ and now 60$

I don't really want to waste 50-60$ on a 8 hour game . I can do many more things for less money that lasts that long ... like sex with london-boy

You're certainly not alone. I don't even care how many hours a game lasts me. If I get to the end and I can say "whoa" then that's all that needs be considered.

i did not know you and london boy go down like that :) jvd. from my prespective few games(AAA) deserve 25+ hours of my life. for example with civ 4 being out now,a game gotta be really really good to make me spend extra 20+ hours of my spare time on it and if a game is not AAA and just a good AA title with some intersteing concepts, i think its better that i can finish it within a week.(rising preices is a bitch though, whats next 100$ per game for xbox 1440?)

A great review I must say, quite thorough, but reading the review you would think that he is going to score it 9+ or something, but I do understand that it might not have that long "lasting appeal", but I don't care I must say, as long as it is an unforgetable experience for the time it lasts, even if is short, that is better than 40+ hours of just walking around. And if it can keep you on your toes for 10 hours straight what more do you want, many wouldn't be able to take it anyway...
