CES: Microsoft signs XBox Live content agreements

Microsoft has announced that it will be expanding the video offerings available through the XBox Live Marketplace to include content from newly signed partners ABC/Disney Channel and MGM studios.

Curiously, it looks like UK will be getting IPTV first (at least, it sounds like a UK provider was the first to sign).
 
Nothing too curious, here in Chicago (or more accurately Illinois) Comcast, the cable provider, has made many attempts to stall AT&Ts roll out of IPTV. They keep trying to get them classified as a cable provider and the current method, before the courts I believe, is that AT&T has to go city by city or county by county to ask permission to upgrade or run lines and drop boxes...:rolleyes:

It's a shame too. They have been trying to stall so they can get that new Cisco backbone in with 100mbs+ speeds. Compound that with new live content and you have a hit. When you can get full 720p/1080p(if they ever offer) movies in less then 5 minutes...

With that said, the IPTV functionality seems great!
