Wardevil did indeed look like vapour-ware from the get-go. Huge promises with little substance. Just looked like an attempt to get in funds and then try desperately to produce something afterwards. I'd have been amazed if the game eventually materialized.
I think Project Offset is the biggest loss from that list. Can't really blame them for tying up with Intel.
There was also all those Cellius games and that PSEye game from E3 2005 where you directly speak to and interact with those japanese ladies to solve crimes... i thought the latter looked amazing back then. I guess Sony realised after releasing the PS3 they had no more money to develop the voice recognition libraries for that game to become a reality. I did enjoy the premise though. Perhaps one of Sony's in-house teams could ressurect that game with Move support, as a sort of Heavy Rain-type futuristic narrative-driven detective thriller. Or maybe even MS could hire a dev studio to rip off the idea for a Kinect game, since Kinect's voice recognition libraries are already there.
Yeah Wardevil was a farce... I remember when my bro went for an interview at their studio. He came back with only terrble tales to tell
