Blu-ray has 70% of 1st qtr sales?

Anybody who hasn't heard of Onkyo doesn't know sh*t about home theater and should just stay away from both BR and HD DVD period. Might as well stick with your Labtecs and call it a day. ;)

HD DVD CE manufacturer support:

HD DVD exclusive: Toshiba, NEC, Sanyo, RCA, Kenwood
HD DVD non exclusive: Hitachi, LG, Lite On, Onkyo, Samsung

Denon and Marantz are also members of the HD DVD Promotion Group

NEC, Sanyo are primarily white goods companies as far as the consumer goods are concerned. RCA and Kenwood are regarded as low quality goods companies, and Kenwood also does a lot of white goods.

LG, Hitachi, and Samsung are actually Bluray association members supporting Bluray, and Kenwood and Lite On are contributors to the Bluray association, and Onkyo is a member of the Bluray association. Only NEC and Sanyo have a higher prominence on the HD-DVD board than the Bluray board.

There was a similar situation with regard to Sony Betamax support - a few manufacturers with a lower prominence supported it.

Sanyo hasn't released its players.

NEC has PC HD DVD drives (HR-1100A). Also, didn't NEC co-develop HD DVD with Toshiba...

I believe Meridian is also releasing a HD DVD player. I hope Denon does as well.

In the other thread about Blockbuster it seems that quoted the same 70% number as the original article here. I guess it was not just a fluke.
