ATI Cards dominate D3D modes. NV cards are faster in OpenGL

BTW, just thought I could explain why OGL is slower in flyby and faster in botmatch

Flyby usually isn't TOO CPU limited, while botmatch often is quite CPU limited.
OpenGL got lower CPU overheads compared to D3D, so in real-world situations where the CPU is often a bottleneck, OpenGL is often faster.
In benchmarks with little AI and stuff, where the GPU is often a bottleneck, it all depends on the implementation.

well youll only get the benifit from OpenGL if you are running Quadro drivers as they have a MUCH improved ICD.

Which ICD would that be?

Difference being that the advantage in flybys is more than twice as high as in botmatches.

***editNr.2:

small detail I overlooked: botmatch minimum scores

OGL

antalus: 9.1 fps
asbestos: 16.49 fps

D3D

antalus: 27.39 fps
asbestos: 21.07 fps

ut2003's opengl renderer omits some specal effects like the projector shadows.
As far as I know that's the only omission. Fortunately, the shadows really aren't that good.
