Assassins Creed Unity [PS4, XO]

it also have nice animation for important characters. btw i do like the art direction in this AC. Vibrant, make me feels "uncharted" :D

I hope that footage was from the XBO, the image quality seemed to be quite lacking to me. Certainly wasn't as impressed as the last video but I think that's possibly because this one just showed less gameplay.

Gameplay Seems just like the old AC games. The lighting looks gorgeous !
No ps4 footage around? I am interested because of the gfx basically, the mood is fantastic but I hope their new quest system actually makes a difference and its not the same old same old.
Also, usually AC games have multiple locations. Does this game only have Paris? That would be a small world, wouldn't it?

From this Kotaku articles:

The city of Paris in Assassin's Creed Unity will be the largest city in the series' history, the game's developers told me yesterday as we played the game and I grilled them with tons of questions.

Unity's Paris will be bigger than the combined island landmasses of Assassin's Creed IV. It's rendition of the famous Notre Dame cathedral is proportionally 1:1 with the real thing. So as you enter it as the assassin Arno, you should feel that the building is as big as it is in real life.

Level designer Bruno Saint Andre told me that a quarter of the game's buildings will have playable interiors, which is a massive increase from previous games.

I am in two mind about Unity. The only reason I was compelled to play through Black Flag was because of the pirating side distractions to give me a break from the main story and missions, which in typical AC tradition were mostly ass.

Was just thinking exactly that right now :) ! Without the pirating, is it even worth buying? Will the new mission system make a difference? Cos all story missions will be more scripted than Uncharted's cut scenes !

I'm waiting for reviews. I'd like a truly open system where I don't need kill x at spot y. I want to be able to learn a targets routine and kill them somewhere they are vulnerable. Or booby trap something they will use. Or be able to blackmail a bodyguard into killing them.

I'm expecting more of the same but I hope I'm wrong.

according to Ubi, the story mission wont be heavily scripted in term of your approach for doing them. So there will be no case where you instantly failed if detected etc/

I think this is one I will just have to buy. To have Paris and its landmarks recreated with such fidelity and beauty is just too hard to resist even if the game would be crap.

Yeah, lol, virtual tourism one can call it but I haven't been to Paris and the photoreal gfx is why I am also interested. Notre dam is looking too real here, but we haven't seen any ps4 footage yet. We don't know if it will be 1080p or blurred or even a jagged mess. That might spoil everything.
@Orangelupa: well, they did show a sp mission recently and it was all just the same. Follow this guy, stand here, press button here, stand here, press button here and done. There is no sense of player agency in AC these days. No sense of messing with NPCs in the open world like in FC3 or taking over areas in AC4's seas. The only change they have mentioned is that u can undertake multiple quests at a time and all can progress together. French revolution had a lot of groups/factions hope they add some dynamic gameplay related to that.

I take it that this time you're basically facilitating the revolution by a large number of optional missions until at some point the scale is tipped and the revolution takes place.

Since France is Ubisoft's home I am kind of expecting a real labor of love here ...

If Unity is just gonna be regular old AC all over again except prettier, it's gonna be tough for me to enjoy this after Shadow of Mordor just improved so drastically upon AC's formula.
Damn pretty though.
