Sigh..honestly if you told me these are ps3 screens I'd believe you. Literally everything bar the lighting look POOR by modern standard, that 900p and piss poor aa filter don't help either.

Not sure if serious. :rolleyes: There are loads more things here that scream next-gen, like that 25% of the buildings can be entered at any time, the clearly much, much bigger texture budget, the quality of the streets, etc. But the 900p does really let it down some. This is really not something that last gen could do.

Only something like Uncharted in some of the more closed down environments perhaps could come in the neighbourhood. But AC4 its free-roam, changing time of day, etc.

I visited colonial sites a long time ago but I don't recall stone buildings or cobble stone streets.
 
looks good to me, wonder how people can say it looks like shit. Maybe they hoped opening CGI movies quality of past games in real time ?
i'm fine with those graphics if the framerate is locked.

Yeah I was exaggerating a little but it really isn't that nextgen looking by all means. Asset quality, reflection, shadows and iq fall well behind to a few other current gen titles both released and upcoming. I expect a game of 900p nature to offer something mind blowing in the graphics department but non can be found here.
 
That does look pretty bad. Maybe the compression is killing the beauty. I did not post a lot of KZ shots here cos they lost all the colour range after compression leading to bland looking shots while I had experienced bliss.
Lets see, gameplay demos had some great looking char models and skins. Maybe that's in there , or maybe that was all PC build that never makes into the final game.

the picture is weird. does the game really render @ 900p? because it still blurry when i rescale to 720p (left un-edited, right edited)

If it's up to me I would so drop half of the npc count (15000 is still a lot), get the resolution to 1080p pronto and iron out the shadow issue if there's still resource left. The kind of tradeoffs used here is just so inadequate. I wonder what the day one patch would offer for any visual enhancement.

As I mentioned in the other thread, their main source of shadows is from the sun, so what they need is a stronger AO to bolster the situations where objects are already within the Sun's shadowmap.

Hundreds of persons working at Ubisoft for this game and not one noticed how blurry the game was? And how shocking the difference was compared to AC4 even versus XB1 version?

I am not even asking anymore for a 1080p patch, what's the point with this amount of vaseline? I am asking for a AA patch ASAP.

Take the AA of the PS4 version of AC4 (exactly as it is, no "smart optimization" because once you take that road, you begin with SMAA 2TX and you finish with a custom FXAA + Quincunx or whatever blur filter like here) and patch AC Unity with it.
