Assassins Creed Unity [PS4, XO]

Speaking of 30fps controversy... according to the following allegation, a Ubisoft game architect has admitted during a school presentation that Sont and Microsoft are actually pressuring Ubi to lock the PC version of Assassins Creed Unity to 30fps.

I feel a storm a comin!

Makes sense because the consoles are technically already out of date, with even Nvidia 970/980m based laptops set to challenge them and yet the consoles have 6 more years to last. Maybe in a few years they will start pressuring tablet games to have the same limits :)

At this point it seems like Ubi is just stirring things up to get free marketing. Every time I turn around they are in the middle of some brouhaha over something silly.

Personally this game is a pass for me at launch. After Watch Dogs and the very poor state of The Crew beta I'll be giving all things Ubi time to breathe before I think about picking them up.

It seems like Ubisoft overestimaed their ability to optimize current gen consoles (at least this early, despite massive amount of workforce) or they expected way more powerful consoles and for some reason or another, didn't scale back once they got the final specs.

I like their games so it's terrible to see 'em fumble so badly at PR. They say something stupid just about every day now. There's even more fuel to the fire at recent giantbomb podcast.

One or two bombas for 'em would mean massive reductions in workforce. Or bankruptcy.

Or get Orc murder simulator now and Paris time traveling tourist simulator in February when it's stable ... ;)

yeah yah 2GB minimum VRAM but im sure my 1GB VRAM will still be able to play it (assuming AC have proper texture streaming and customizable quality)

True but SC is from Ubisoft itself right, so it would be competing with itself?

Though that makes more sense, since there's more stealth involved, just like the original AC.

I haven't kept up with the AC series much but when it first came out, it was intriguing because of the history and the political intrigue around those historical backdrops.

But it doesn't seem like they've really done much with the historical aspects, other than to claim this is suppose to be Florence around the time of the Renaissance or Istanbul around the 12th century or whatever.

wow ! Whoa ! Never could have guessed that!

But the preivews I read of the main game are bad, stuttering mess, unfun combat, lame co-op, was not expecting such words at all.

Sigh..honestly if you told me these are ps3 screens I'd believe you. Literally everything bar the lighting look POOR by modern standard, that 900p and piss poor aa filter don't help either.
