One of the best looking games ever. Constantly amazes me the way Crysis did way back in the day.

Yeah AC4 is very nice as BF4 and COD Ghosts, (but the last one runs like shit on CF290X's.)

Btw, the Crysis expandedmod takes Crysis to a higher level again;)

I discovered that you can take bullshots in-game in Elite: Dangerous by pressing ALT + F10 so I took a few of NPC's mining.

    Call of Duty: Advance Warfare

This was a small test to see how much I can distance the game from the 'video game look' and more into movie rendering while still maintaining 30hz on a 1920 x 1200 display. Sledgehammer Games is unbelievable. Some shots are spoilers*.

A few Assassins Creed Unity shots. This is still the best looking game out there on any platform IMO:

From what I've seen AC Unity is the best looking game ever made, but does it still run like crap on PC?

It depends what you consider running like crap. On my rig it's a totally consistent 30fps at 1080p + FXAA with max settings minus textures and shadows dropped 1 level. I currently play at 1920x809 though since I prefer the aspect ratio - that allows me to max shadows out too (Nvidia PCSS). The hitching bug that plagued the PC version from day 1 doesn't effect me but I'm unsure if that's due to patches or the fact that I've locked the game at 30fps through RTSS + half refresh adaptive vsync. It's a very smooth, consistent experience which very really drops frames.

That said, if you expect a completely smooth 60fps on more powerful hardware then perhaps it still does run like crap (I have no idea since I'm a GTX670 peasant). From what I hear though it still runs pretty poorly on consoles too. For sure I'm getting a much better experience on the 670 compared to what I've seen in the DF performance video's.

Okay then I should be fine on the 970. I used to have a 670 and the 970 is actually way more of a jump than I expected it to be since they're both 28nm.

Also I was at a friend's house and he was playing Unity on his Xbox One and I was like "dude what's wrong with your TV?". It was stuttering like crazy.. looked like a cable was loose or something. He didn't know what I was talking about. I confirmed that there was nothing wrong with the TV or connection. Saw him play GTAV and it was similar jank and general horrible framerate. Just sayin when you start thinking we have it bad on PC, go play a console :)

I'm waiting until Unity goes on sale. Judging from numerous comments on it's optimization, it's (or was) pretty horrific, performance wise, on PC. It looks so good though....

If you got maxwell hardware it should run pretty okay. 970/980/980ti/Tx run it pretty easily from my experience. Some Arkham Knight shots:

Kinda feel sad about the people that worked on this, stunning job and the best real-time Paris yet. Hopefully they learned their lesson and Syndicate is more optimized for mid-low end PCs and consoles.

Thanks and agree, each new wave of consoles enables developers to do more and if we are already achieving these kind of visuals just 2 years in, i can only imagine what games will look like by the end of this generation :D
