Apt in New York City

Hello, I'll probably move to NYC for the summer with a friend (mainly for august, but my friend might stay more).

I was wondering if anyone here is from NYC or knows someone there and could give me a hand to find an apt there or even just a room in a shared apt.

I've been looking on craigslist but with little luck.

Does anyone know if campuses rent the free rooms during the summer?

Its rough finding a spot in NYC and a supreme hassle, your best bet are summer subtlets, which tend to appear on Craigslist.

If you happen to have a friend in NYC who you can stay with for a few days while you search, that also helps a lot.

I think NYU rents rooms for the summer - at least they used to back in 1988

Unfortunately NYU is out of rooms for the summer.
(there are some left only for people attending the summer courses).

I'll keep my eyes open on craigslist and the new facebook marketplace.
