Angel gone after this season

Must have been the worst Valentine's day ever. Heard that Angel is gone for good after this season. So, 9 episodes left. Can't believe it.

I just last summer developed my fixation to Buffy and watched every season in few months. Now I've been watching Angel and I'm enjoying it more and more. I was sure that there was going to be at least some 7 seasons of Angel but no.

Now I'm going to cry myself to sleep.

:(

Btw. if you know something about the future happenings in the series, keep them away from this thread. There's only few episodes left and I'm not going to spoil my fun because of spoilers.

Btw. part 2. This kind of a thing gives you a better perspective to things. Now I couldn't care less about some shitty new video cards.

Aw crud. This is one of my favorite series. How come it's ending this season? Ratings not high enough?

edit: seems a bit short notice to tell the producers half-way through the season that it won't be renewed or anything. Please let this show continue on another network.

I dunno, for an immortal creature who hasn't aged a day since his 18th birthday Angel is started to look remarkably middle-aged.... ;)

James Marsters is 39 or 40.

whats really sad is that fox cancelled FireFly, and next season is bringing in "the littlest groom". A show about a dwarf/midget in a love show.

later,

Yeah it's a shame.. Joss is pretty pissed about it.

They Canceled My Frikkin’ Show

Joss reacts to the news of Angel’s cancellation and expresses his disappointment in the networks decision.

Some of you may have heard the hilarious news. I thought this would be a good time to weigh in. to answer some obvious questions: No, we had no idea this was coming. Yes, we will finish out the season. No, I don’t think the WB is doing the right thing. Yes, I’m grateful they did it early enough for my people to find other jobs.

Yes, my heart is breaking.

When Buffy ended, I was tapped out and ready to send it off. When Firefly got the axe, I went into a state of denial so huge it may very well cause a movie. But Angel... we really were starting to feel like we were on top, hitting our stride -- and then we strode right into the Pit of Snakes ’n’ Lava. I’m so into these characters, these actors, the situations we’re building... you wanna know how I feel? Watch the first act of "The Body."

As far as TV movies or whatever, I’m not thinking that far ahead. I actually hope my actors and writers are all too busy. We always planned this season finale to be a great capper to the season and the show in general. (And a great platform for a new season, of course.) We’ll proceed ahead as planned.

I’ve never made mainstream TV very well. I like surprises, and TV isn’t about surprises, unless the surprise is who gets voted off of something. I’ve been lucky to sneak this strange, strange show over the airwaves for as long as I have. I don’t FEEL lucky, but I understand that I am.

Thanks all for your support, your community, and your perfectly sane devotion. It’s meant a lot. I regret nothing (except the string of grisley murders in the 80’s -- what was THAT all about?) Remember the words of the poet:

"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the road less traveled by and they CANCELLED MY FRIKKIN’ SHOW. I totally shoulda took the road that had all those people on it. Damn."

See you soon.

Man, this season of Angel has been so damn good too. Sarah Michelle Gellar was going to guest star on Angel to help its ratings in the Feb sweeps, but canceled because the show was doing so well and it looked like it didn't need her help.. well now that it's gone, I REALLY hope she signs back on...

First Farscape, then Buffy, then Sex and the City, now Angel.. GOD there's nothing left on TV...

tv shows today are so crappy, its really sad. There are so few good shows. Only new show i found this season worth watching was Joan of Arcadia.

Can't believe this.... My life is over. Goodbye i see u in heaven.

Once again, TV Execs show they only know how to make cheap, lowest common denominator programmes that appeal to the hard of thinking. Why bother with good scripts or clever writing, when they can fill the airwaves with another crappy reality TV show?

This is why I spend most of my time programming and playing games.

David Boreanaz is furious with Sarah Michelle Gellar

Angel spunk David Boreanaz isn’t too pleased with Sarah Michelle Gellar’s refusal to return to her Buffy role for a one-off TV special. Although Sarah claims she’s too busy after signing up for a remake of the Japanese horror flick The Grudge, David is furious. He apparently declared, "If Sarah were to come back for a final farewell - like I did for her on her series finale - that would be fantastic ... It’s not like you do a 50 or 100 episodes of a show and say, ’Screw you.’ You have a responsibility to your fans."

Well I guess that's that... bleh.

41, actually. (Born 20 August 1962)
Now the real question is--did you know that off the top of your head, or did you look it up? ;)
I'll be honest and admit that I knew it off the top of my head but felt too much like a weirdo to post that up. (I was a big Spike freak back in the Buffy days, he's still my fave charecter. )

AAAAGGGRRRRRHHHHH! I love this show... I heard there's some talk of UPN picking the show up...

This sort of thing rarely happens because the previous network won't give up the rights to the older series. Any new network would have to pay for new shows and do the advertising, but WB would reap the benefits from selling the back catalogue on video and DVD.
