AMD paying off hardware sites?

I heard a rumour that says that amd is paying off hardware sites and stuff since it is very unlikely that they all post the proc benchmark results in the same day, it is unlikely they all recieved the amd proc samples in the same day and they all had a sample of P4 560 and P4 EE, This happened to like at least 50 hardware sites in one day, I bet its true.

huh?

youve never heard of nda's? Intel, amd, nvidia, ati,.... all do this. They tell sites when they can publish their reviews. So in a day youll see a ton of reviews on the same item. No conspiracies, no payoffs.

epic
ps welcome abord.

Have you ever noticed how reviews for a new video card seem to come out on the same or nearly the same day?

How reviews for new Intel chips tend to come out on the same or nearly same day?

How game reviews of released games come out at the same time?

Me neither...

Every manufacturer sends out a number of evaluation samples to reviewers in advance of the official release date. Not every site gets one, but the big ones tend to get a sample, hopefully with sufficient time to test.

If you've kept track of some forum statements by reviewers, you might even see them state they are working on a review of a product that is not officially released.

If done right, most reviewers will have finished their reviews before the release date, and they agreed in their NDAs to not release info until that time. A reviewer can post the review after the release date, but there's not much incentive outside of needing more time to do so.
