Amazing New NBA Live and Fifa 360 Footage

Well, generaly they look good, but I do have a bit of a problem that their clothes don't seem to have any physics what so ever, they look a bit like clay figures doing sports or something...

LIVE looks amazing, animations aren't great but with GFX that good who can complain?

Yeah.. LIVE looks really amazing.. From distance and on a small screen, you can easily mistake it from a real broadcast.

From a distance on a small screen, even some current gen games can look "real".

not even close, the glare of the court, the 3d crows, the extremely realistic character models.

Putting this game in the same sentance as last gen is just plain wrong. Props to EA for a job well done, on both these games.

Uhm i didn't.
I merely said that some games in this generation can look "photorealistic" on "a small screen from a distance".

Live looks great, although the animation is not as good as I'd hoped.

FIFA I'm less than impressed by though.

And your point....was what exactly?

One of those days scooby??

The guy said that these 2 games "look like the real thing... from a distance on a small screen" and i said "many things do".
End of. No more comment needed. Or do you need a follow-up for every post i make? Then you guys wonder why my postcount is so high...

I just don't think that's a very fair comment to make, cause it completely ignores the fact that this game DOES look real! You're kinda downplaying it don't you think?

NBA 2006 is the one game I must've heard a half dozen different people say "i though that was real for a second"

The models on the bodies of the Live players are good, especially the arms. But the faces, while they look accurate, are lifeless, with the same frozen expression. Seems a mismatch with the rest of the body.

The motion and animation of the players have the same floaty, skating appearance. Looks like it will control the same as the current game.

The FIFA faces looked like zombies. Not only lifeless but eerily pallid. The stiff jerseys doesn't add to the realism either. So the Live team tried some kind of cloth simulation but the FIFA team didn't, even though they're both in Vancouver.

The guy's comment is only for NBA live, not FIFA (though it also looks good)... I decided to watch in the footage with direct feed yesterday (small screen), and the movie was shot from a distance to the TV. From that video, you can mistake it as a real broadcast. And scooby is right, this is mostly because of how they model the whole court and the arena.

I am not saying none of the current games have very good graphics, and I am sure that you can mistake some of them as a CG movie if you look them from distance on a small tv set. However, do you also mistake them for real broadcast? That I am not sure.

Playing a PS2 tennis game around a friends house, on a...26-28" screen. Another friend arrives, female and not really a gamer. She asked who was playing on the tennis. We said we were. She responds 'Really?! This a computer game?! That's amazing! It's so like the real thing.'

Some people are easily confused. I'll add that GT3's replay was easily confusable with a live broadcast because they had the camera so right.

Dam scoob relax, go pop in NCAA Football for PS2, let the demo kick in, walk about 30 feet away and you will see what LB is talking about. Looks like a real game on my 32inch, never mind a small set.

I remember when the PSX was out in Japan, there were reports about how great those games looked on newsgroup posts.

One guy said he had Ridge Racer running on demo mode on his TV as he typed the post and it looked like a movie.

That kind of buzz probably hurt Saturn sales, which was already out in the US.

LIVE looks good, but FIFA is kinda screwed. It seems to be using HDR lighting, and the lighting on the clothes in the harsh sun looks good. But the skin looks fscked up! Like the players are zombies or something.
