Alan Wake: Remedy next gen game

The movie is pretty nice. The art direction in this game makes me want to see what more it has to offer. You have to look at the movie clip to appreicate this though.

Cool visuals? check. Solid track-record from dev? check. 19th century romantic poetry reference in teaser? check.

Yes, this will be mine :p

Not OMGWTF impressed, but it really intrigues me.

A Psychological Action Thriller? Whoa...
Well, if Remedy kept their old good habits, we'll be able to pass through the cutscenes, without having to see (read endure) them.

I just watched the HD trailer, and I really hope that was taken from the PC version, because that amount of aliasing shouldn't be present in next gen games.

What constitutes a 'next-gen' game? I get the impression developers are tagging that label onto anything that'll be release after Christmas. PC games are hardly going to be 'next-gen' because they can be played on current gen in lower res, slower etc., plus in theory PCs won't be up to par with next-gen console performance for a long while. I think the next-gen bandwagon is starting to roll uncontrollably.

Please people, don't just post (link to) screenshots of anything claiming to be 'next-gen'. If its from XB360, PS3 or Rev, lets see it. Otherwise leave it to the conventional gaming sites to cover in their day-to-day coverage. That's my take anyway.

PC games released next year are going to graphically much beyond what we see on consoles today, and if those games are also released on next gen consoles like this one, I think it is fair to call this next gen game :). By the way, the video looked nice, eventhough it doesnt show that much.

The game seems somewhere half way between the Max Payne and Silent Hill as far as the atmosphere and the setting. The main character looks like a half way between Tom Cruise and Corey Feldman :p

It's weird but after seeing the screens I thought it looked pretty good, but the trailer actually seemed a lot less impressive than I thought it would be. The darkness falling at the end was a nice effect, with volumetric shadows creeping over everything.

The trailer is in 1280x720 resolution, the same one mandated by MS for XBox 360. I wouldn't be surprised if this is how the game will look like on that console. I don't think the aliasing was something to complain about here. They are probably using 2x or 4x AA for this, and i think that's fine. We should not expect CG quality AA on next gen consoles.
