Air Car

As an aside, why wouldn't a SMART car be able to handle it on the highway? It goes 84 MPH, (which is electronically limited, by the way), 110 MPH for the roadster model, which should be plenty for most highway drivers.
Their size and handling, plus their sound proofing is likely shite, too. Its just not a safe looking car, so I think it wouldn't sell worth diddly.

Biological or not, burning stuff always produces emissions.

That's a narrowminded way of looking at it. You're not looking at a net gain of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere with bio-fuels, unlike with fossile fuels.

Besides, diesel is also biological ;)

No it isn't! By what measure could you possibly call diesel fuel "biological"?

Biodiesel has just as much emissions AFAIK. It's just about gaining it "for free", not while it has any benefits concerning emissions. Besides, it runs considerably worse than "real" diesel and shortens the lifespan of the engine. And you also have to produce it, which also causes some pollution...

Diesel, or let's say raw oil has its origins in plants/animals which died those 200M years ago, that's why I call it biological. I didn't mean to say that you can like eat it or whatever... ;)

Edit:

Correction - I just found out that biodiesel does indeed have lass emissions: no sulphur and phosphor, a bit less NOx and about the same COx.
It produces about 5% less power and it needs specially prepared motor 'cause it is aggressive to seals and lacquer. It needs huge investments for the facilities to produce it and mucho methanol for the process.
