Age of Empires DS new screens and details

Cool, this was my all time fav RTS game on PC--was member of a clan to play this game. Can't wait to try it...my office mates could get a match or two during luch hour. :)

No idea why they've made AOE turn based. Do they think they're working on a GBA or something? Not that its a suprise since I've known it will be turn based since it was announced.

Yes, quite disappointing. I wonder what the issue is.

I'll be looking forward to Shogun DS, which is 100% confirmed to be realtime. Since its actually called "Real Time Conflict: Shogun Empires" :)

Ah, cool.

Too bad, AOE is one of my favorite games of this genre and of course the stylus lends itself quite capably to controlling units. Oh well, maybe this Shogun game will be pretty good.

Ditto, the game is well-rounded (balanced) with the number of civs/units/techs given. Although, I'd like to see a battle where my swordsmen (supported by archers) and paladins running through the flanks on my enemy's full army and place few of them on enemy's town yet maintaining your economy and doing the upgrades all at the same time!

I think the DS can't handle this scenario especially when the number of units in the game is 200 (each player/cpu). LOL maybe this was the main reason why it was turned base and the fact that controlling each unit is cumbersome and you only get half the screen to do that.

Oh well, let's see how it turns out (hopefully not the same gameplay as Advance Wars).

Well, the original Age of Empires ran on hardware that wasn't any beefier than the DS...and had considerable slow down with 200 units per player.
BTW, the new Advance Wars is real time, and will have at least a 240 max unit count.(all players combined)
