3D Gaming*

Well… they don't have to lie. There is no real 3D data/effect in the 360 demo:

It's an interesting trick that does indeed generate an impression of depth as discussed in the Crysis 2 Demo tech analysis, but it's clear now why we thought that the 3D effect is so easy on the eyes... It's because there is no actual 3D as such in the demo code.

We asked Crytek to clarify the situation, as the firm's own GDC presentations suggest a "2D plus depth" approach is used by CryEngine 3 on console, similar to the TriOviz tech, recently integrated into Unreal Engine 3.

"You're actually right, the demo still uses an outdated stereo implementation which has very little depth," Crytek's Jens Schaefer told us.

"The final game has a lot more depth and a lot of progress happened. The 360 demo did not integrate the updates and thus 360 demo is not representative regarding S3D."

Will wait for others' analysis of the real game to see what and how their 3D is done.

Cervat Yerli ...
Maybe after reading the below extract from article it would be wise to tone down the excessive agressivity and 'jump the gun' attitude?

Also your comment about BS is something that rings truth for most devs talking in media, yes even PS3 devs (incredible right?)! ;)

Should not jump the gun either way. We have not seen the implementation yet. The 1.5% performance hit is interesting too.

Some have seen it at games conferences and response has been positive and that includes atleast one known person, James Cameron. Their 3DS method(s) are also explained in their public tech document that was posted in C2 thread.

If really some people have been amazed by the Console 3d version of crysis 2 ,then i'm even more amazed by their ignorance.

No idea what they saw, but the console demo doesn't have the real effect. PC demo coming soon right ? May be that's more interesting.

They have to manage their PR. Given the earlier 3D claim, people will want to have a look (like what DF did on their own). Like I said, they don't have to lie, but people will judge their output regardless.

Let's be clear. As for PC it depends on build but if it is meant to be official non-beta demo (which 360 MP demo was) then they should have it all working as good as possible to market it.

Yea definitely, but it seems like they improved it greatly according to them and newest todays previews which say its great experience.I've read a couple of them...

Yes people should look, but my question is, where exactly did they say that the 3d mode in the demo is the 2d+buffer method. AFAIK they only said that that method will be there in the FINAL game.

I already read that line a few times. The demo doesn't have the 3D effect. Still doesn't tell me whether it will be good or bad in the final game.

That's why I said:
