360 or PS3, architecturally speaking, which is more powerful?

It's clear to all here that the architectures of 360 and PS3 are very different. But some have suggested they aren't comparable. I would argue that, as both are aiming to deliver next gen gaming content in an environment where the two will compete against each other, they are. My question is this. From what is known of the two architectures, in the opinion of the respected poster, which system is technically more powerful?

Oh no not again... this has been debated over and over for ages. Search the forums.

Please, not agan. I don't even understand why people even care about this, you're not gonna sit there and masturbate all over your proven most powerful console, are you?

The important thing is the games that runs on it, right? Or at least games, and other features such as controller ergonomics, movies, internet multiplayer, downloadable extras, peripherals etc. So get the one that suits you the most; we could debate for a thousand rainy days which is the most powerful of PS3 and 360 and not come to a conclusive answer because depending on which way you look at it you'll get a different answer.

They're both great, settle with that alright?

I'm aiming for my first next gen console to be the most powerful. So this discussion is important to my purchasing decision. I raise this now because full dev kits are out for both systems and as more technical tidbits are revealed for each system the topic may have more to offer than before. Besides it's always interesting exchanging ideas and info in this discussion.

Unfortunately for you my friend this thread does indeed need to be closed. There are already numerous threads where this topic has been discussed. There really is no need to create a new one as the information is available and all you have to do is search. True, the people here are informed about the performance of each console and the good thing about this is that there are plnty of threads and posts for you to read to discover which console is the most powerful. This is one of those circumastances where you will have to search for the answers, but trust me they are there.

This thread is locked because while not meant to incite flames, it has a good chance of ending up that way. It is best to snub this sort of thing before it happens.
