360 "almost" hacked?

the way i read it. from some of the xbscne guys. is it only works by using some of the unsigned code found in the early 360 demos and games. and only on the early 360 2005 makes (how many of thoughs are out, that are still working) everything after still needs more work, right now MS should be more worried about the disk drive which is way more important that running unsigned code in my opinion, allowing pirated games to be played even on live. But i heard on some sites that MS testing modded 360, that a live patch was able to brick some console that plays on live and was tested a bit in europe bricking a few consoles. If i had this patch i would release it 3 months after halo 3.

This is a raw hack which involves jumping thorugh many hoops to exploit - just read the instructions on the today released "Hello, world!" sample. It won't be practical to use by end users to play pirated games (or homebrew, for that matter).

The problem with it is that will eventually allow hackers to run the equivalent of kernel debuggers at least on old kernels, possibly enabling them to find other security holes, which are easier to exploit; if they are found, all 360s factory-produced with a sufficiently old kernel (which probably, at the current point in time means all 360s), which are NEVER connected to the Internet, and NEVER used to play a new original game carrying with itself a mandatory kernel upgrade will be wide open in the hands of the attackers, just as PS2 and Xbox1 are now.
