24hr. Clock

well how about we just all use GMT and then include out local modifier in parentheses? ie it's 10:00(-6). We already have this (all time zones are GMT +/- Y) but it would make more sense to communicate in GMT(local modifier) rather than local(GMT modifier) so that we're all experiencing the same time at the same time, and if local bearing of the sun is important then we can figure it out very easily relative to us (just subtract the modifiers).

hell, could everyone AT THE LEAST write local(GMT modifier) instead of just local???

Seriously, ditching time zones would not lessen the ability to figure out daylight hours or sleep hours of a given location, and approximate latitude is simple one way to figure such a thing out. We could easily refer to each current timezone as having a "noon hour" and from there it would be just as easy to approximate time difference.
It's the same concept as timezones, just reversed.
Having days start in the afternoon is a much bigger problem IMO than communicating an unambiguous time with the help of timezone modifiers.
