The character models, on the other hand, look pretty nice when you catch them from the proper camera angles. Though not featuring as much detail as those in EA's NBA Live (thus making them a tiny bit cartooney-looking in comparison), they appear less awkward with fewer goofy expressions. So the players look extremely good given the graphics engine present here, but that engine can't compete with Live's right now. 2K Sports, for the first time, will now be playing catch up to EA with their visuals.

Looks like I was right...again. Time for people to take off the Sega ****** goggles.

Wow 7.0 they downgraded the game from 9.0 on PS2 and xbox only cuz the graphics are no top of the line?


Wow talking about not knowing to review games.

And that's 2K6's biggest setback -- it doesn't have the instant visual appeal, next-gen look, or out-and-out raw emotion that gamers want to see in a next-gen sports game. The actual mechanics of the game are quite strong (the shot stick and free throw system are perhaps the best mechanics we've seen in a basketball game to date), and it has all the depth and options we've come to expect from a veteran basketball series.

Wow graphic whores shouldn't score games,gameplay over graphics every day i would take.

this is just the mark rein prophecy coming true. if a game doesn't have visual punch, people bash it.

2k6 is much more photorealistic than live. Live may have some fancy lightning or whatever, it is not graphically realistic. +realistic clothes effect in 2k6 adds a lot.
The test doesnt even mention that , which is weird , isnt it ? When they say its the same engine as nba2k6 xbox, it may be, but when you see the result live2006 looks like to 2k6 xbox more than 2k6 360.
I really think there is something wrong with this test. Nevertheless, ive never read a 1up test before and i know why

The transitional games between this gen and next gen should be critisized with a more strict scale, if a game offers essentially the same gameplay and just a little upgraded graphics, it deserves to get a lower score.
People look at the revievs of next gen games and pretty much decide whether it's worth investin in the new console, thus the value of the next gen game is much loewer if it doesn't really offer a next gen experience.
PS2 and xbox games have been pretty much reviewed similarily this gen, nobody's complained when they do that, why should they not take into account the graphics when comparing and reviewing PS2/xbox versus xbox360 games.

The reviews for first next gen games are pretty much whether they live up to the hype and expectations, or if they are a let-down. Many PS2, Gamecube and xbox launch games had mediocre scores because they were just curent gen games with better graphics, there were some expections like SSX and Halo (thoug some might want to disagree).

im just waiting for the test of nba live, i think it will be funny. In fact the wrong thing in this test is that they dont speak about clothe animation at all, while thats the bigger thing you see when watching the game. Every other test will mention it for sure.

You should buy NBA Live 2006 360 if...: You like flashy graphics and something that will show off the power of the Xbox 360

Maybe we dont have the same def of "superior" visuals.
The game that looks like most to this video is 2k6 imho and for many other ppl too.

Well we all have our own advice, but we'll still have the choice between 2 bb games which means challenge between the 2 firms.
