New Browser Demo

Here's something I worked on for a while. Not a real success story but if you want to see some serious 3d action in your browser, along with some good rock n' roll, you can't afford to miss it :)

http://www.cc.puv.fi/~e0100243/skeidas/skeidas_update.htm

It downloads about 4,5 MB

Tell me how you like it!

edit: Actually, if you go here http://www.cc.puv.fi/~e0100243/skeidas/

then right click and save everything in a folder and then double click the .htm there, it might work a bit better, less pauses, better framerate, more sex appeal.

edit2: scene dudes can also comment at http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=18580 :)

If anyone wants to help me release a video version, that would be cool, since the plugin isn't available for non windows users, iirc.

Looked good - never seen that kind of demo done in shockwave. I take it that it's all software rendering, no hardware acceleration? Ran fine on my work machine (P4 3.4Ghz).
Only thing is your server is slow as hell so took a long time to download!

worked OK on OS X 10.4 Tiger, Firefox (Deer Park), eMac 1GHz, 1GB SDRAM

cool! I didn't know there was shockwave plugin for that!

I'm pretty sure its able to use direct3d, up to dx7 spec. No shaders, not sure about hard-wired t&l, but its definitely accelerated. All that filtering & all couldn't be done that fast without hardware acceleration.

The server might experience a slight peak for a moment cause today was the delayed release date but it should settle down after a while.

Hey, nice work! You did a really good job on the visuals & audio and I'm pretty amazed at how well it works for a shockwave plug-in demo. :)
