They were dead on with the 1.2 million estimate for the 360. One of my friends told me that at his Gamestop the only 360s that really sold were the Plats and Elites. The Arcade only sold ever so often when the other systems were out of stock and no one bought the Halo 3 edition.

Absolutely couldn't keep Wiis instock. Most were sold out before the store even opened when they shipped the units. I'm surprised that the Wii numbers are some what lower than I was expecting then again if they had more units available they would have sold them.

Edit: Don't they have a longer software sales list going up to at least number 20? I was expecting to see Rockband higher on the list. I wonder how much it sold that month.

Although you could calculate it out by compiling the NPDs - and I would imagine that has got to be floating around somewhere - if you wait another week or two these folk will report their quarterly earnings and we'll get an updated worldwide volume picture
 
360 was a little lower than I expected.


COD4 is an absolute software MONSTER. I am thinking when you add in worldwide and PS3 sales, it might be challenging Halo 3 sales. What a windfall for Activision. Good game also.

AC was also a monster seller overall.

So does this make Halo 3 the best selling title worlwide of 2007? Mario Galaxy only has ~1m in Japan so far.

Wait there is also Wii play and Wii sports? Those are both 2m+ sellers in Japan I believe, and also a lot in Europe I'm sure. Wii sports is packed in in USA so it's gonna be a bit tough to judge,
 
I wasn't clear my bad, I was speaking for US only.
I don't have all the NPD numbers, but I just wondering if somebody had already done the calculation ;)

i think including PC and PS3 and the European numbers, CoD4 will have a comfortable lead over Halo 3.

vgchartz overtraked the wii by ~21% + the xb360 ~2% + undertracked the ps3 by ~%3
 
Lets' leave VGchartz out of this please.

Wii = shortages capped the numbers. Good software sales also.
360 = decent numbers. Remember this year it's facing a $399 PS3 in full supply vs a Wii with immense hype and much larger shipments. Thus, good number. Not great but good. Hearing about premiums and elites out of stock propbably didn't help much. A software monster. Impressed that Halo3 did 740+ after being launched in Sept.
PS3 = Hard to tell. Clearly they're losing ground. The ratios look better but in volume they are 460k behind the 360 and another 90k more behind the Wii. Software is absent.

Here the cumulated sales for nintendo (wii+ds)

4 514 889 => vgchart
3 820 000 => NPD

The gap is consistant, especially if we consider that given MS and Sony PR we at least had some clue while nintendo was more the wild guess.
But they pretty much on track for the psp and ps2.
It would have been interesting to have theirs estimations one week ago.

That was the one million dollars bet some years ago MS consistantly leader in US :LOL:
 
I hope that not too many editor will start to think that 5 hours is actually the sweet spot for solo campaign... sarcasm inside :LOL:
