X360 scaling questions

If I used a DVI-HDMI cable with a 1920x1200 monitor, would I be able to FX AR scale or 1:1 pixel map to 1080p and 720p? What would I do about sound though?

I was thinking about getting an X360 Arcade version for my B-day in time for summer to play Sonic4, and I don't have an HDTV because they all suck nuts compared to my Apple Cinema LCD 24 in.

Finally, is the Jasper revision immune to the RRoD?

My 360 and PS3 is connected via. HDMI to a Gateway FHD 2400 LCD monitor - via. a HDMI switching receiver, and the display is configured for 1:1 on both. The upscaling on the 360 looks a bit better vs. the PS3, but you should be fine for either system. 1080p games look great on this display, but the screen is so small that I really can't tell the difference unless I'm 6-12 inches from the screen.

I'd say that the Jasper models dramatically lessen the chances of a hardware issue, but you cannot ever rule out a failure.

In terms of upscaling of games and videos,
For games xbox360 is the better system by a longshot.
For movies and videos the ps3 is the better system hands down.
