World of Meters - Interesting stats

According to CIA:

Population in July 2005: 6,446,131,400
Growth rate: 1.14%
Birth rate: 20.15 per 1,000 population
Death rate: 8.78 per 1,000 population

That means we have about 200k people growth per day, about 356k new-born people per day, and about 155k people dead per day. These are more or less consistent with the web site.

About military expenditure, there is no clear number. However, US alone in 2004 spend more than US$370 million on military, so the number on the web site is not accurate (unless, of course, if it only indicates the US government).

Err, Billion!

Yes, you are right. It's a typo. :p
By the way, the military expenditure of US is near half of the world's total military expenditure. The military expenditure of European Union, which is comparable in size of economy, is about US$200 billion.
