I just noticed my notebook LCD screen showing weird "scratch" on lower side. I touch the screen and there no scratch/bump, so i think this is inside.
here the photo:

as you can see,
changing the viewing position also make the "scratch" change position. Also it can be seen that the LCD pixels for producing pictures is still OK.

so what is this weird "scratch" ?
any info how to fix it?

thanks :D

It's not an insect or similar? I've had a few crawl in and die inside a couple of LCD displays. I suppose it's the 21st century equivalent of amber :)

from the shape it seems not an insect (no legs or antenna to seen), but yeah that LCD screen often got ants running here and there all around inside the screen....

Looks like an insect wing to me TBH, but it could be anything really. Plant part, piece of lint... If you open the screen up you may find the rest of the bug dead somewhere nearby, if so let us know ok? :D

It's looks like a scratch on the inside the LCD (over the pixels on the plastic panel). I have exactly the same thing on my LG screen since I got it. Factory default. Can't do a thing about it..

its just appeared that morning >_<

as for opening, i planning to try to bring it to Asus service partner at monday. if they refuse to fix it (still in warranty age) maybe i can persuade them to just open the LCD and clean manually :p

but if it is a scratch then i wish asus willing to replace the LCD haha.

I had something kinda similar (it was a bug irregular shadow) but it only appeared after the monitor had become hot after being on for quite a while. I sent it in under warranty and after a bit of back-and-forth I got a new monitor.

btw ASUS accept my notebook
they say they are confused what is it, and saying will need 2-3 days to do in-depth investigation.

hmm, hoping they will replace the LCD screen (still inside 2years warranty) :p
