While it does only cool your CPU, it does bring down the case temp. Thats a bonus, but its not that dramatic.

For your first attempt at WC, you might want to take a look at the Koolance EXOS. Seems to get good reviews for ease of setup. Performance isn't bad either though I'm sure the guys here who "roll their own" will scoff at the suggestion.
