Uncharted 4 discussion [PS4] (read first post) [2016]

I don't think I can play this untill Co-op arrives. Hope that is all action like UC2 and 3 co-op modes. Put countless hours in those.

Edit: played some MP, so fun. Am back :D ! They added more funny dialogues compared to the beta. Feels so good :)

Finished the game, really liked it but really got a bit tired of many times there were convienent cart/box type things laying around just at points where they were needed. Also I wish people had gone on about the 'almost open world the areas are so large' - this is essentially U1-3 with some larger areas but the same setup where you are essentially goning from one area to the next...not that I mind that, it suits the games.

Overall a great 'end' to the franchise - I wouldn't mind seeing more mini adventures (if you see what I mean) but now really looking forward to what they will be ding next.

Apparently the singleplayer DLC will be the adventures
of Elena and Sully, as they go searching for Nate.
That could be a fun adventure.

Great, there was nowhere near enough Sully in U4.

I felt that Sam was just a Sully replacement without Sully's quips and stories about whores.

I liked Sam as a credible bigger brother. They should have somehow worked a bit of him into the Uncharted 1-3 remastered though :p

I still don't get how the whole flashback section of U3 happened with Sam still being around at that time. How was drake all alone and willing to be sort of "adopted" by sully, only to later abondon him and be back with sam in the prision part (which only meets sully face to face for the first time in U4) to then go back to hanging with sully in U1. Sure one can supposedly can go back and forth between fatherly figures, but that doesnt fit with nate's loyality to either that the game tries to convey.

On the one hand, retcon is never an easy thing to do, but I believe it was justified in UC4. Sam's role in the story is pretty important and also reasonably well done.

And on the other hand, it wouldn't take much to imagine scenarios where Sam has to abandon Drake for a while. Like, it's suggested right before their break-in that Sam has accepted a job that'll take something like a year to complete and he just can't take his young brother with him. So he leaves for a while, and young Drake gets into trouble in the mean time on his own - the way he's depicted in the game makes it pretty easy to imagine that he'd go after the Drake legacy without Sam ;)

Yeah, i get that part. Its the abandoning sully later and having neither ever meet again that is the biggest offender. An explanation sure could be conjured, but ideally it would have been acknowleged in the game. With so much blabber during gameplay, it seems lazy they couldn't fit some exposition about that somewhere.

When drake is chasing the pirate tresure in the prision with sm and the evil dude, where is sully? How did drake never introduce sully to his brother if he is supposedly best friends with both? As I said, dozen explanations could be invented, but its lazy not having at least a hint of it on this game itself. Its too glaring a question mark to not even acknolege in my opinion.

I felt like I was a companion on Sam's adventure much of the time - even when he wasn't there. Past games were very much Nate's adventures. Similarly I also felt like I was playing the role of the sensible brother whereas really I liked being the reckless one in Uncharted games.

It just felt like the dynamic had changed.
