Things to ask?

I'm attending NV Editors' day tomorrow, so just try to collect some questions from you guys. What do you wanna know about NV? But I have to say I may not be able to post up the ans. because of NDA...but I'll try my best to give u back ans if possible. So, I'm just asking for help here.

Questions are never a problem ... questions of which there is the remotest chance they will get answered, now that is a tough one :)

Editors day you say? Whats that? (Mmmmm, perhaps thats why I'm in San Hose at the moment, I figured there was a reason!)

You're in Texas?!?! BE CAREFUL!

Could you ask them if they plan to pursue their questionable PR tactics with the launch of the nV40 and if they plan to continue to optimize their drivers for the nV3x series? :|

That's San Jose, not San Hose :) The latter sounds like a color of women's pantyhose.

NVidia's actually in Santa Clara, I live 5 minutes from them on the same street. :)

No, I can't find anything in their trash dumpsters on the NV40. :)

Does nV pay to fly editors out, or is this an "own volition" dealie? And do you come away with NV40 samples to keep, like the NV30 launch?

Inquiring minds. Well, inquiring minds that are going out of their human gourds waiting for "previews."

Floating point shader performance. That's what I really want to know about the NV40.

What I'd like to ask:
If you normalize the performance of the NV40 and NV35 to their respective fixed-function performance numbers, how much has the floating-point performance of the NV40 been increased over the NV35?

In other words, how much more efficient is the NV40 with floating-point shaders than the NV35 was?

Given how it's pronounced it could just as well be spelled San Hose.
I would say it a la spanish so would be San Rrrose :D

Edit: Little OT, is there something interesting in the Nv's analyst day? "Got bored after 45 minutes :)"

There will still some generic optimization, but not much application specific one.

General speaking, NV CEO already state that the NV40's performance will be at least 2x of current products, rite?

2nd ans will have to wait until NDA expires I believe.

I'd like to know the debut price of NV40 non-ultra, and when it'll be available in China. :p

no talk about pricing today, but personally, i think it'll be about the same level as what NV30/NV35 first debut.
