The Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt ! [XO, PS4, NX, PS5, XBSX|S, PC]

I have to say that this game is like playing two games in one. The cards game, Gwent, is so addicting. TW3 is becoming my favourite game of the new generation and the best of this decade along with Skyrim. Life is Strange would be up there too.

I've spent 3h yesterday playing Gwent, after few loses I figured out most of required tactics to beat some shop keeper and got his card :). Then I got on my horse and rode towards nearby mountains where I found large bird/dragon similar to griffin. After 3 minuts of fight I decided to do tactical retreat as I barely dented his health with my broken sword. Will have to train a bit more and upgrade few things before I come back for that overgrown bat!

I've been avoiding Gwent because of the reports of crashing but I think I'll give it go if it's not that bad. Do you play for Crowns or just cards?

Nothing wrong with a tactical retreat - just never run away. :nope: I'm level 6 now and did a quest I picked up to find some guy's brother in a mine. Despite it being a lvl 33 quest I decided just to check it out and got quite far in the mine before the monster appeared. Nope! :nope: I tactical retreated my arse out of there although killed a few baby monsters along the way.

I'll be back for that, though.

I've just done a few quests for K in Velen and I'm curious how they would have played out had I not helped K earlier. Or even if I could have done some other quests before I'd met K.

While trying to track down the elven mage you into the Hunt and after you're done with the main quest, Keira asks you to help her find a magical lamp. I helped her get the lamp, which she then gives you later. The lamp seem quite important in completing the Fyke island quest and I wonder if that quest can be completed if you did not help Keria get the lamp.

Similarly during the elven mage quest Keira gives you an itemto dispel illuisions and I later stumbled upon a quest (Greedy God) where I could not have progressed without that item.

Also, for anybody who has met the Allgod, I'm curious what you chose to do.

On my first play through I decided to let him live but accepting modest scraps. Then I had second thoughts and though that this thing exploiting peasants was wrong so I replayed it and killed him. When I spoke to the peasants above they were distressed by this news, not understanding it was a trick, so I replayed a third time and let him live on scraps again.

I'm really liking how some of these quests are completely morally ambiguous for me. I think, had I not read one of the books before hand, I would be playing more trigger happy, but having read about what Geralt is like in the books, I'm definitely trying to see all decisions from both sides.

I wish more decisions in games were like this.

Does the Griffin head always stayed tied on the horse? I didn't see any options to sell it.
Thanks!
Do you sell all the trophies? They add good bonuses. I really like the Noonwraith trophy, it adds a 5% extra experience bonus after finishing quests and so on. I prefer it over the Griffin trophy because of that. It might appear to be a small bonuses, but given how much time it gets to level up, any bonus is welcome.

Close to trophies, in the inventory, handbags are SO useful to increase your inventory capacity.

In the end I only slept one hour this past night, had to work, fortunately it was only 3 hours, rested two and slept 1 hour and a half again, then I had to work til some minutes ago. I feel tired, but I am going to play tonight a little more.

I've a +5% money bonus from a foglet head. :) busy day for me, killed three werewolves.

you guys at PS4 or X1, does W3 have "dry" sound FX?
like on the early scene where geralt horsing around with his lover (forgot her name) and chased by demon horses.

or maybe that is what realistic sound FX and i was too acustomed to bombastic hollywood FX :/

Did not realize that. So basically keeping trophies in your inventory adds various bonuses ... good to know.

the "dry"-ness also happens on stereo mode though.
Did it just happen in the two instances you mentioned above in your spoiler? I'm sure a fix will be in the upcoming PS4/X1 patch.

Patch 1.03 on PC fixed my occasional too quiet voices and sound effects on RealtekHD.

If that's what you're guys are talking about then it should be addressed on consoles very quickly.

Levelling up is confusing....I am at level 7 now. I just unlocked the 'hold R2 for stream of fire' ability. But when I hold R2, it does the standard attack of Igni. Now, will that ability also take up a slot on the skill tree? Will I lose the standard AOE Igni attack?

Also, why does each sign need to be levelled up separately when different monsters are prone to different signs :( ? It means if I invest in Igni, I will be under powered against everything else except a few ! And Axii, the mind controlling sign, is extremely important for conversations.
Man, I am so confused.

I think one should just invest in Axii and sword for the start and let everything else be as sword is anyways ur primary attack. But then simple light and heavy attack also level up separately and so does parry ! It seems like a very punishing system. How am I to know what is going to be essential or supercool later ? :(
