The Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt ! [XO, PS4, NX, PS5, XBSX|S, PC]

Game has leaked in few markets, I just saw twitch stream of Xbone [admiral_prowarrior] and stream of PS4 version [Maskedgamercall]. Both run great, but stream quality is quite poor sometimes.

It seems it's being sold at some stores in the United Arab Emirates.
Assholes.

If they ever wonder why they get their games 2 months after the worldwide release, this should be the lesson.

Sometimes game really does look great when the wind is on, only as I said, shame the tree branches and leaves are flapping so unrealistically.

Short but decent interview by DualShockers with The Witcher 3's Visual Effects Artist, Jose Teixeira. Lighting, water effects, the wider use of shaders and the weather effects are covered.

Funny to see XBO become the PS3 of this generation for multiplats versions..."where is the XBO footage? Hiding it?" Conversely if the XBO version of a game looks and runs great, devs can use it as a bragging point of their l33t coding skills ("if the XBO version is this good imagine the others!"). Basically as PS3 versions last gen.

The only people "hiding" the Xbox One version is Microsoft because they have the marketing deal with CDPR but thus far I've only seen generic marketing like the Witcher 3 ad before Avengers: Age of Ultron. Given the deal it's quite bizarre CDPR have entertained PlayStation Poland, doing interviews and letting them capture and show footage on on PS4.

Perhaps CDPR felt Microsoft weren't keeping up their end of the marketing deal.

But there's nothing to worry about with regard the Xbox One version. As I posted before, Lazy Gamer spent four hours playing that version and said it was "spectacular".

Nice interview and some interesting details from developers mouth.

This was nice of him:
Like I said, I’m super excited to see what comes next and what we’ll be able to pull off with all the lessons learned from this title. We can’t thank the fans enough for their constant support, and please, KEEP COMMENTING! We do actually read the feedback, and it does influence the game! We’re all gamers!

I have to agree, foliage quality bugged me for a while now

And newer images have foliage like this:

Variety is simplified, foliage texture quality is of much "lower resolution", it looks so different now...

I'd be super appreciative if you took this to the Witcher 3 thread in the PC Games section. I'd hate for another PC downgrade shitstorm to derail the console thread.

This also concerns the consoles. But OK, fans seems to be past vindictive behavior that hit Watch Dogs hard last year.Game looks good [but IMO it looks worse than it was initially promised].

Final PC version not living up to early PC trailers does not concern consoles. The only console version that was shown before very recently was a glimpse of The Xbox One version about a year ago.

There's never been any promise of what to expect on consoles and nobody, unless they're a bloody idiot, should have been expecting console versions to look like high end PC footage even from 18 months back.

It's never going to happen, but gamer people really need to wake up and not get all caught up on the bullshot advertising material.
And even if the game looked like that 18-24 months ago, it's been in development since then where things change. Technology decisions change, artistic decisions change.

With the frequency this happens you'd think people would understand but I keep forgetting gamers are apparently morons with no capacity for learning.

For watchdogs it was different. They basically showed us during months-ish 1080p native and real-time console footage only to ship with 900p (or 792p) badly upscaled game (with worse AA) that was in the end substantially different (to me anyway) than what they told us was running on genuine console hardware.

Those W3WH shots released initially were / are 100% bullshots (probably heavily supersampled and running at like 10fps on a Titan card), and they never showed us any realtime stuff, as far as I know, with that image quality.

And concerning the console versions, remember that they initially promised (or rumored) us only 900p/720p for the consoles, so the final retail games are actually some impressive improvement, while looking as great as ever of what they ever showed us running on console before, quite the contrary of what Watch_dogs, indirectly promised us (when we pixel counted the first PS4 real time footage being 1080p and all with great morphological AA that didn't make it in the final game).

First non official Xbox One footage. The video is very low quality, but anyways.

The aforementioned video and another one from the XO version can be seen here at a much higher quality.
