The Annual E3 PC Gaming discussion Thread, 2017 Edition

The only thing I'm really looking for on the PC side out of E3 is a Vive update. Perhaps repackaging with the new headset, maybe some hints about V2 and hopefully a price drop! I've been holding off buying one until E3, primarily because I'm expecting a replacement, enhancement or price drop. I hope my wait is rewarded.

Yeah, I'm also interested in the rev.2 VR devices.

have they shown Age of Empires? (a guy told me on WhatsApp, I haven't seen it)

thanks AINets. I feel goosebumps all over. This is like the best Age of Empires game ever made for me, and that's saying a lot, because I place them at the very top of in my list of best videogames in history. Watching the trailer makes me feel emotional, from happiness!

AoE2 was a "better" game -balance and multiplayer wise-, but for some reason, there was something special about this game, unique, that made me prefer AoE1 over any other Age of Empires game. It was the art style, the feeling of being there, imagining how free the earth was back then, how whales roamed the seas and stuff like that. Difficult to explain.

So what did we get? Doom VR and Fallout VR and Skyrim VR that launches on PSVR first? No word of V.2 products or price reductions? No more news of 3rd party W10 VR products?

Only just started to watch this but I just have to say.

Did the Intel rep really just say "Mega-Tasking"? Yup, yup, he sure did. LoL.

[edit] OMG - how much did Intel pay to monopolize the first 30 mins of this? Oh, I see, that was all pre-show stuff.

SB

OK, lets see if anything impresses here.
  • X-com 2 expansion, expected but welcome.
  • Ooblets looks interesting, but still no clue what you do in it.
  • Battletech, always good to see more footage. I hope the campaign is good as that's all I'm interested in.
  • Mount and Blade 2 looks good. The first one was good if a bit janky.
  • Total War: Warhammer 2 - Woooooooooooo!
    • OMG, they plan to combine the worlds of the first and second game together in the future into one very large map
  • The Last Night - the Pixel Art is SOOOOO good. Real time puzzle solving. Not a platformer. Sweet.
  • Ylands from the makers of Arma. Not at all something I would have expected from them. Seems to be a world building and sharing game. You create the world and set the game rules.
  • Grift Lands - RPG from KLEI. Awesome. Love me some RPGs and like KLEI.
  • Lone Echo - Oculus VR game in space, looks interesting. Includes Echo Arena a 10 player sports game in Zero G. Movement is by grabbing things with your hands and using that to move yourself.
  • AOE Definitive Edition - they improved the pathfinding (pathfinding in the original was a bit janky at times) and UI.
3 Million sales for PUBG. That's impressive for an indie title. It's good to see that the game is constantly being improved and updated. As well free content additions (weapons mostly). Modding coming in the future. 2 New maps coming. Dang!

Microsoft at the event. This is good to see. Forza and Sea of Thieves. Showing 21:9 resolution support for the PC version of Sea of Thieves. MS Creative director here as well.

Not bad, better than most of the major E3 conferences.

SB
