Well, here's the thing. Speak up about your opinion and boom, you get slammed. General Discussion is perhaps the only forum free of trolls. The others are infested with them, waiting for people to slam. They even bait at times, as evidenced in the Politcal forum. I'm just sick of it. Edit: This is my last post. See y'all on another forum, maybe.

Sometimes 'your opinion' can be another's idea of close-minded hate mongering/bigotry/racism and can offend, I'm surprised it comes as a surprise to you that your opinions are met with criticism. (I'm not talking about you specifically btw, I meant it as a generic example thus the hyphens)

It's not that I don't want to defend my opinion. I have. It's all of the insults and childishness that this forum can have. I see all of the anti-Isreal stuff as hatred myself but I don't go and call them anti-semites or Judism haters. Edit2: I'll add a few more things. The Pro-Bush people here will do the same thing the Bush dislikers/haters(I just remembered there are people here who hate him blindly........) do. They'll go into anti-Bush topics and troll. They aren't any better than the Bush dislikers/haters in that aspect.
I sometimes wonder if the people here can't make an argurment at all without using name calling as a cruch. I mean it. Around 60% or so of all of the people in this forum, more so in the Politcal sub-forum, base their arguements mostly on some kind of belittlement. Hell, I have at times. Wasn't right though. I just hope that one day maybe the forum will grow up a little.

Religion & Politics forum is about US politics and absolutely nothing else (specifically Neocons v. non-Neocons). Yawn!!!
The main forums are about NVIDIA v. ATI. Same thing.
Every forum you go in, everybody is in write-only mode.
Politics in the UK is going through a real crisis point precisely because it's got like this forum. Politician A states their opinion. Politician B states their opinion. Politician A re-states their opinion, using the same words they did first time round. Politician B re-states their opinion, using the same words they did first time round. Politician A... you get the picture. The general public changed channels years ago.
In the end you get a whole bunch of people talking and none of them thinking (except maybe thinking about how to score cheap points over the other.
Very tiresome.

I checked out of curiosity and saw dig's reply. If you look up you'll see that in my reply to him I wasn't going to post agian but I had to when I saw his post. Then I went and saw a bigot's post in the politcal forum and calmly asked him to back up some of his claims. I'm sticking around 'til I'm done talking to him. come on IST it's not sooo bad, surely it will be hard to find a better forum on the net, if you enter into a moderated one than well, you can expect to find moderation or straight out bias in one way or another... it kills the spirit... the forums here are alive and well, just point out the ad-hominems, stop participating in the thread and move along, there will surely be other good threads that will come up to make your day.
