Testing FSAA

I believe they should add Need For Speed into the IQ tests because it has a great enviroment to show it off, or bring it down. The very far view distance and long roads makes for loads of jaggies, even 6x FSAA on the Radeon 9800 Pro has difficulty on some scenes. I remember when 3Dfx was trying to market the whole FSAA image quality thing they used NFS to show it off, is it not used now because you cant benchmark it? If so, just use it to demonstrate the quality.

Just a thought.

That's because NFS does not use MIP mapping for roads (or aggressively adjust the LOD bias). No FSAA can deal with that aliasing (except unlimited adaptive AA). Force anisotropic filteirng can reduce the aliasing.

Ah, okay. Thanks for the info. Btw, Flashpoint would be another good game for FSAA testing imho, the terrain is not really smooth and you get these very large diagonal surfaces which look like a million $'s with fsaa, but look terrible without it.
