its very interesting that Graphics Companies like nvidia is in the list.
a Card that doesnt allow screenshots of "trusted" apps?

As long as "untrusted" computing remains unaffected, I don't think there will be too much difference in "free" computing.

And yes, some vendors do not want screenshot of their apps. Some examples: the DVD Audio player in the Creative's Audigy 2 package disabled all digital output and internal wave recording, to prevent digital copy. Video cards may have similar issues. However, I don't know how DVI affects DVD video players? :)

Video cards with dvd output capabilities are already supposed to have have macrovision support. Trusted computing with a video card will most likely enforce this a bit more. TC DVD players would probably fail to run on Drivers that aren't TC signed and so on.

Now as far as untrusted computing goes, last thing I knew, it was supposed to be an Administration option in Whistler. It would be madness for untrusted computing to be disabled by default. It would pretty much prevent everything users have on their HD from running when doing an upgrade to a TC operating system.

Now, it would be sort of 'nice' if the TC stuff would allow you to run in a semi-restricted mode, where you 'grant' certificates to programs on your HD to let them run, and prevent unknown programs from being able to run. This would be somewhat similar in concept to software firewalls.

Video card manufacturers may want to get into STB or are looking forward to the convergeance of PCs and home A/V.

The HDCP initiative (copy protected content over DVI) may require them to be a member.
