My wife has an old Sony Vaio (PCG-971L). It's partitioned with the C: (FAT32) having around 7GB and the D: (NTFS) having around 11GB.
I used her recovery CDs and chose the option to recover only to a C:, hoping that it would be the sole drive, utilizing the entire 18GB. The result was the same partitioned C: with the remaining 11GB as unallocated space.
I tried "extending" the C:, but it won't extend unless it's formatted as NTFS, but the recovery automatically formats it as FAT32.
Is there a way to incorporate all of the space into one drive, or is it stuck with the partitions?
I know, it's severely out of date and she needs a new computer.... but that's not an option at the moment.
Thanks in advance for any help!
