Someone is (was) using PS3 Linux to view Blu-ray and HD-DVD movies :)

as far as i understand, they hook up the PS3 to a Windows Computer, then access the BD-Rom via SCSI-Commands over the network. In other words, they use the PS3 as virtual Blu-Ray Drive on Windows.

... and they hook up an "external Xbox-360 USB (HD-DVD) drive" to Windows via PS3 iSCSI ?

Like this: HD-DVD add-on ---> (USB) ---> PS3 Linux ---> (iSCSI) ---> Windows ?

Yeah... not that it makes much practical sense, but his point is that in the latest kernel/firmware the builtin drive cant playback protected media, but the HDDVD addon works.
