i had over heard something about "nintendo's megaton annoucement" in various other game forms. Even in this one. I believe Zurich said something about it. What was it?
Who knows. V-Jump hasn't mentioned it since. Maybe something will be announced soon that fits the criteria but strictly speaking noone will know exactly what V-Jump was referring to unless it states so itself.
Moreover, it's supposed to be Nintendo-related announcement but not necessarilly an announcement by Nintendo.
Spong, CVG etc. know nothing. It's also worth noting that neither V-Jump nor Famitsu have hinted at anything at the level of a merger or buy-out. It'll be some 3. party software, what and how much remains to be seen. Maybe it won't even be announced in December after all and we'll never know wtf V-Jump was talking about.
Shelly Friend, head of PR for Nintendo Europe, today branded these latest claims "absolute rubbish," seeming most amused by the continued speculation on the matter.
Looking past the fact that CVG has been one of the more active sites when it comes to posting MEGATON rumors and speculation I have an issue with that article... or rather its headline.
Nintendo isn't denying the MEGATON announcement... why would it? There's absolutely no reason to think it is directly involved with this announcement. It's quite possible Nintendo doesn't even know what V-Jump was talking about.
Nintendo is denying that it has anything to announce in December but there was never any reason to believe they would. It's just bad journalism.
How the hell is NOA supposed to know what V-Jump was talking about? Noone does. It's just more exciting to imagine that Nintendo will buy every company in the industry than an announcement revealing a few new titles.
What ppl make up themselves neither V-Jump nor Nintendo is responsible for however. In Nintendo's case I think they're going out of their way to deny the rumors (rather than offer no comments) simply to avoid a backlash from disappointed morons.
If its just a few third party games then they'll have to be massive games. Afterall I seem to remember that the original comment on this was that it would make GameCube's fly off the shelves worldwide.
