Except, if I remember correctly, there was blood in the first movie, when Obi-Wan hacks of the arm of that guy who was pushing Luke around.

On topic: number of tickets sold would be a better metric then $$$ sales.

To a certain degree. However, the school I teach at here sells several thousand tickets to movies each week. They only sell that much, though, because the tickets only cost 1 yuan each, (around 13 cents), and none of that money ever makes it back to the studios.
