when you've got a JIHUB at 2.5Ghz? no, not really.

You'll get a nice bump in memory bandwidth with an A64, but not much else compared to that system. Most Winchester 3000/3200+ A64s will approach 2.5 GHz, but you're talking about $300 for a small improvement. If you wait for the next A64 stepping it's supposed to be about 25% more overclockable and include the latest SSE revision. I think it comes out Jan/Feb.

I just went from a 2400+ (NF2 board) at 2.1 GHz/194 MHz FSB to an A64 (939) 3500+ (not yet overclocked) and it's noticeably faster, but not amazing or anything. My memory bandwidth jumped a lot though...
