Saudi Arabia worried by high oil prices

How many different fuel versions are there? I know there is alot, and could having so many different versions be a factor in higher prices??

There's a famous case out of Detroit back in the late 70's where two auto workers unemployed due to Japanese competition murdered a native born (and of all things) Chinese-ancestry American man for "revenge." They received only 24 months in jail from a very sympathetic judge and jury. So yes, Japanese competition was killing the then four US based automakers at that time.

Im going to have to politely disagree with you here. Yest toyota and honda might be working on 3rd gen hybrid engines. And technically ford is working on 1st gen. What i feel isnt mentioned is that ford will have just as good if not better tech in their hybrid then even a 2nd gen hybrid from the japanese. Ford most likely knows how a 1st and 2nd gen hybrid works and will improve on these. So Im of the opinion ford will release cars that are almost as good as a 3rd gen hybrid. :)

And I bet you'll find Ford (Found On Road Dead) generally less reliable than their Japanese counterparts (go look at the latest issue of Consumer Reports).

I'm not sure exactly what you refer to as "better tech" (as in, better in what sense?) but I bet you that the new Lexus' coming out with Hybrid technology will be incredible.

Heck, come next year I doubt Ford can compete against today's Prius much less beat it.

ford focus was the best car (for its size) ranked by consumers report. Which suprised alot of people. Dont be suprised if ford does release a great hybrid.

By better tech, i mean that whatever for releases will have been influenced by what toyota and honda have already released. Its not uncommon for car manufacturers to take apart their competitions car and see how it works. So in a sense ford will be building their hybrid car from knowledge of a 2nd gen hybrid car.

Because it's sporty and fun to drive. Look at reliability (which is what I was referring to).

And yes, I agree that having Toyota out there already helps Ford with their development of hybrid technology. Just don't expect it to be equal to the Japanese who have much more experience.
