RTCW - Broken Netplay, that makes 3 for 3 for shitty PC-port

Bandwidth is measured in Bits whereas computer memory in Bytes....btw both computer and telephone bits are same!

Pay attention to what I'm saying not what you think I'm saying.

Yes the bits are the same. I'm talking about the difference between what telco people and computer people mean when they say meg. It is different.

Only way MS can solve this is by spawning dedicated servers for players on a server farm.

Nothing to do with the XBox's "power" to be a host.

The Xbox still cant handle as many people as a PC Can, its not meant
to handle being a server.. I am still curious why MS isnt hosting the servers, thats what Xbox live was SUPPOSED to be all about, what exactly will the monthly fee be going to?

Yes, but an XBox CPU should be able to handle a *6* player game. I used to host bigger games on my 200Mhz machine.

The primary advantage the PC has is that people are willing to run dedicated servers on a PC.

Who wants to host a server? Think I want my frame rate lagged by 16-32 players eating up my CPU resources to run physics? The only perverse reason you'd want to host the server with your client is to get 0 ping.

The solution to all of this is for MS to provide hosting for game companies to run dedicated servers, the same way Blizzard hosts games on Battle.net.
