ram questions

iv got an n-force 2 mobo with 2 by 512 of ddr 400. its set at 2.5 3 3 4
could setting the last one to 4 instead of 5 make it slower, or would it just not work.
also when i over clock the ram on my 9700 pro(2.2ns) to 355.50 i get artefacts at start-up sometimes, but then when i restart they go away and dont come back until i turn off the computer leave it for a few minuets and turn it back on again, why is that.

For an nforce2 mobo, set the last one to 11. We talked about this in this thread recently. Then use benchmarking utilities to test the memory speed.

Re. the artifacts with your 9700pro, I recommend you don't overclock that high... the ram could be dying.

ye iv been having promlems with max pain 2, so im gonna leave it at 342. that is until i get my ati silencer 3, maby i can push it upto 365 like on the xt.
