The Race of Champions is a truly gladiatorial event that pitches the world’s best circuit racers and rally drivers head-to-head against each other round a spectacular parallel track to determine who is the fastest. Racing doesn’t get any more dramatic than this and, in 2007, the event will take place to the equally exciting backdrop of the new state-of-the-art Wembley Stadium.

Created in 1988 by Fredrik Johnsson, President of IMP, and the world’s greatest lady rally driver Michèle Mouton, The Race of Champions was originally conceived as the ultimate shoot-out between the top international rally stars. Over the years it has also proved immensely popular with the biggest stars from all the major motor sport disciplines, including F1, World Rally, NASCAR, Le Mans, Indy500, Champ Car, DTM, WTCC, etc.

The list of past winners reads like the “who’s who of racing”. World Rally Champion Sébastien Loeb took the title in 2005 and Heikki Kovalainen claimed it in 2004. They join a distinguished group that includes world rally champions Juha Kankkunen, Stig Blomqvist, Didier Auriol, Tommi Mäkinen, Carlos Sainz, Colin McRae and Marcus Gronholm.

Wembley Stadium will host the world famous Race of Champions on Sunday 16th December 2007 in front of an audience of over 75,000 spectators.
