question about B3D's "3dtables"

Both can output 4 color pixels/clock in "very limited circumstances". So they can be reffered to as 4x1, even if, most of the times, they work as 2x2 (NV34 more than NV31)

In the case of the NV31/NV34, the limitation actually is the ALUs (one big ALU required for x2 texturing; can't just "divide" it). They got the ROPs, they got the color outputs, and so on. Unlike the NV30 where the color outputs are limited too, and it's more of a BW problem.
