EA Vs Chris Deering, I suppose EA dictates the price of PSP to SCEI...

Deering was the same man who stated that PSP's price would be close to the GBA SP...

Paul what is close to him

Close to him could be 500$ compared to 100$ Because that is closer than 600$

Close to 100 dollars is not 500.. It's like 130-150.
To you .

Thats my whole point .

To me close to a 100$ is 110.

To others it could be 150. To even others it could be 300$

Don't ever trust marketing speak

Just converted 48,000 yen to Euros and US Dollars: Christ that's alot of money!!! 362 Euros, 452 Dollars. I had no idea it was going to be that much. I was hoping for around 200-250 with an eventual price drop down to 150 or so, at which point I'd look at getting it. Poo.

It is generally not a good idea to take a price from one country and convert it to another county's price based on exchange rate.

Case in point, here are the launch prices for the PS2:

US: $300
UK: £299 ( $552.83 )
JPN: 39,800 Yen ( $377.08 )

Here are the current prices for the PS2:

US: $179
UK: £124.99 ( $229.51 )
JPN: 25,000 Yen ( $236.86 )

The PS2 prices come from http://www.in5ane.com/display/31 and the exchange rates are from http://www.exchangerate.com

Still, even considering that you're looking at a launch price of around 350 dollars. The U.S. price was helped a bit also by launching a good 6-7 months later than Japan, (not saying that won't be the case here). Maybe 2 or 3 years later it'll come down to 200 bucks, but that's a long time to wait.
