PSN weekly updates

It gets better. I also wouldn't call the levels long. Most of them take little more than a minute to complete.
That said, it isn't by any means the greatest game ever. Just a fun little diversion.

I finally found something I like among the games that are free with PS+. Motorstorm Apocalypse. I have the first Motorstorm. It's a nice game, but I hated the rubberband AI. That seems much less of an issue with Apocalypse. It's a pleasant surprise from a game I wouldn't have bothered with if it wasn't for free.

Let me know how you feel about the game when you've driven the twister level for the first time. It is definitely one of the higlights for me of this whole console generation ...

I got Apocalypse, but never really got a round to play it except for a few one of races, but liked that.

What ?!?!?! You don't like Darksiders ??!?!?!

Played that level. It's definitely impressive stuff. The levels where everything breaks apart are most fun to drive.

It's a shame that most games in the pursuit of the best graphics seem to ignore physics. Even though making something behave "realistically" can still be important in making it look good. And it's something that can create interesting gameplay possibilities. I'm a bit disappointed in this gen in that regard.

I bought Darksiders when it was first released. I still need to finish it though.

Just bought PS Plus year membership, can't resist Dead Space 2, Motorstorm Apocalypse, inFamous2 and many more ...

I have just started it and , for me, it s te best overall game i PS+ subscription till now. Infamous 2 and SR2 are also good, but Darksiders takes the cake when it comes to a complete game ! Its jusst the best "gamer's"(?) game, if I may say so.

Then I have to give it another chance...the beginning in the city is little bit trashy...

Oh yes ! The beginning is bland and boring, but after you get those wings from Samael, its one hell of a game ! The graphics as well as gameplay improve a lot !

Thankfully I had played the demo and I persisted ;) !
EDIT: Did I say the boss battles are damn fun :devilish: ! Will pickup DS2 immediately after this !

I would like to note that Europe PS Plus members seem to be getting consistently better free full games than NA members. I do not agree with policy at all, not one bit. I will be writing to my congressman :p

Just Cause 2 and Borderlands are now available to EU PS+ members.

The thing I disliked the most about PS+ is that you never know what you get from it. But with free games at this rate it's hard not to see the value. I'm getting a full year subscription when it comes with a 25% discount in September

You know what irritates me : the fact that now I am not sure about buying any game as it might just go free on ps+ ! I bought Darksiders and Deus Ex on steam and they went free on psn. I bought Borderlands on steam and it went free too ! Thank god I did not buy Just cause 2 and DS2 as I was almost going to.... Or I would have jumped from my balcony !

Now I want to buy the MGS1 on sale right now, but then I worry that everythings that has been on sale goes free one day or the other, should I or should I not buy anything off psn anymore ?!?!?! I ant to buy Mini Ninjas in the sale, but what if thats the free game in Novemeber !

OTOH, Borderlands is a strange game. If played in co-op, you level up too quickly even if u ain't killing much. This happened to me on PC too. I was playing with a bunch of guys who were on higher levels than me and I levelled up to Level 12 from 1 within an hour !!!!!! I thought it was a bug or something as the enemeies were too tough for me and I wasn't killing much at all.
But the same thing happened to me on the ps3 version last nite. I played for around 30 mins in co-op with people who were level 9 and up and i levelled up to level 6 in like 25-30 mins !!! Whereas , if lpayed solo, levelling up takes a lot of time !

Whats happening here ?

I'm getting the same thing. Although I've yet to play it in co-op. Borderlands seems to have a very steep artificial difficulty level. It's easy to encounter enemies you can't damage because you are below their. Yet at the same time it's also easy to become overleveled, making it too easy. Even with the recommend levels for each quest I'm have difficulty finding quests with just the right level of challenge.

The best games for PS+ seem to be the ones that are good, but not good enough that I've already bought them. DX:HR, Darksiders and Just Cause 2 I've bought before. But not Motostorm Apocalypse and Borderlands.

I'm getting the impression that the games selected for PS+ are often prequels to upcoming games (Darksiders and Borderlands), or games with DLC. (DX:HR, Borderlands and inFamous 2) In other words they are giving you something in the hopes that you'll buy more.

That's what I expect. Why else would a publisher give their game away for free? The money from Sony can't be that much. A PS+ freebie nets a lot of interest prior to a new release.

I have seen a lot of people complaining that the Europeans are getting better stuff than the US PS+ members, but I think it actually costs more for Sony to obtain a new PSN release like the first 2 Walking Dead episodes than is does to get older retail games that have sold for as little as $2.50 on PC (which is what I paid for Just Cause 2 last year). Personally, I have not been disappointed by the free games at all and the kind of people that turn their nose up at brilliant gems like Pac-Man Championship Edition DX or Outland or Renegade Ops need to be shot. ;)

And it works too, cos after playing SR2 I am 100% decided on buying SR3, which I would have otherwise never bought. And since I am loving Deus Ex so much, I am gonaa buy the missing link DLC tomorrow. Also, Darksiders has convinced me to get DS2 at some point of time. So, yes, the trick works but its also win win for us as we get to play fab games for a nominal amount :D ! After all, all of these are great games, except warhammer maybe, thats just average.

Bought MGS1 today !!!! :D and some Deus Ex DLC(Explosive mission and tactical enhancement packs). I was really torn between getting the Missing Link DLC for Deus Ex or MGS1, but got MGS1 in the end. Deus Ex reminds me of MGS in some ways and will get the DLC for it later someday when I am done with the base game.

Could not resist MGS1 though. Its the one MGS I still haven't played.
