PSN weekly updates

Played the demo of Ape Ape Fury or whatever it is called . Downloaded it from the Jap store ! The game seems stupid at first, but then it becomes fun really fast. Before you know it you want that elusive ape running away to be caught too. Nice game, I can understand it not coming out of Japan though. It is too "non-serious" for america. but it is fun when you replay the demo again and again  !

This sounds pretty awesome. Is it a Move-game (because I don't have one yet)

Speaking of Japanese quirkyness, I'm really hoping for a Western release of Tokyo Jungle. Looks like the best game ever.

Yup, its a Move title and once you get over laughing at the quirky nature, it is very very fun to catch hold of every damn monkey there :) ! There are still some I don't know how to catch :p !

EDIT: BTW, help me with some HDD recommendations over at the console forums main page !

Tried Dead Space: Extraction yesterday with Move with my wife. It's very well made and a great co-op on rails shooter that controls very well and has a lot of variation with exploration and puzzle elements. They definitely also upgraded the graphics from the Wii, looks very good. Thematically it is not for us though, but those who do like the theme are in for a treat and I can definitely recommend it.

I'm actually thinking about buying a Move for myself now. DS Extraction is indeed really impressive. Did EA more with the game than just increase the resolution? If not, then this must have been a damn fine looking Wii game. Just about the only thing that gives away its roots is the character models, but even they look pretty good. (not to mention they weren't exactly all that impressive looking in the original Dead Space either, especially the faces)

It's also a lot of fun, and even seems very serious about telling a compelling story. How many rail shooters can say that about themselves. If you have a Move controller I'd say get this asap (either with DS2 or without it) Seems well worth the 15 bucks. Good job, EA.

What kind of game is Dead Space ? I overheard the GameStop manager talking about DS2 ? She said it's a horror game ? Or did I hear it wrong ?

Its basically modern day Resident Evil 4 mixed with a really creepy atmosphere, good set pieces and supplemented with tons of cheap horror.
Cheap horror as in monster out of closet horror, will make you jump out of your seat for a second but won't really scare you.

You forgot a very crucial element in regards to it and Resident Evil. You don't control a crippled tank in Dead Space. You control someone who can actually do TWO, count em, TWO things at once! E.g. move and shoot.

Dead SPace was a pretty good game ! In fact felt very good at that time. But I outgrew the space station setting soon. Its a horror/Tension game with good set pieces. DS2 has supposedly taken the set pieces to higher level. You see, Uncharted 2 has upped the game  ! Everyone is looking at U2 as a text book for great set pieces.

I remember how people made move and shoot sound like a big deal back when DS1 released, I thought it was funny cause during my entire playthrough I probably never moved while shooting (same case with Dead Space 2), the enemies in Dead Space are so agile that you'll always be concentrating entirely on your aiming while taking them out/dismembering them instead of trying to aim and move at the same time.

Even if you're stationary while actually shooting (which I'm pretty sure I was as well at least 50% of the time), being able to do both sure makes doing very simple things, like sweeping a room weapon ready/hot, a whole lot easier.

The PlayStation Community Team and The Bearded Ladies are giving you a unique chance to design elements of an upcomming game. Gameocracy takes democracy to the next level - this is your chance to get those burning ideas out and into a game, with no need for development experience!

Over the next 8 weeks, we'll be setting you challenges which will see you create concepts and ideas for The Bearded Ladies' Action Platformer game. We're going to get you to do all the fun stuff - narrative, heroes, baddies, bosses and even level designs. Be the person or team who gets their idea into the game, and you'll be creditted!

Below is a list of each of the challenges and the week they will begin. Each challenge runs from Friday - Wednesday, so make sure you keep an eye on this board to avoid missing out.

Week One - The People Need a Hero! | Story & Protagonist
Week Two - TBA
